More Doggie Stationary!#
I love goldendoodles! They just always look so happy! My friend Bobbie has a massive 90 pound goldendoodle that is just precious, so I wanted capture his loving gaze that he seems to have for Bobbie all the time in a notecard. More to come!

Doggie Stationary!#
I have been racking my brain to figure out how to combine my fine art skills for pet portraits and graphic design. Well last night I found it! I have a number of friends who really love their pets (myself included!), and I wanted to find a way to honor that.

I have two friends in particular that love their Westies, Macy and Louie. So, I have created a doggie design that keeps the theme of my stationary, girly, classy, with a modern twist! Any pet (dog, cat, fish, etc) can be made for stationary, notecards, even invitations! Doggie birthday party perhaps???

Check it out below!

Jamie Lynn Design Debut!#
I have been very busy preparing for my debut! I have a variety of designs including personalized stationary, invitations, and much more! With Valentines Day right around the corner, I have been designing notecards for letterpress printing. I have always loved letterpress design, it adds a special handcrafted style to each design. I am also designing cards for digital printing, which tends to cost less than letterpress. These two different printing styles give versatility on a cost standpoint as well as achieving different styles.

Here is a sneak peak at some of my designs!

I cannot wait to see everyone on February 8th for my debut stationary party!

Monograms!#
I have been very interested in monograms these past few weeks. Since I have started my wedding planning I have a very clear idea of what I want the look to be. Monograms are everywhere, and frankly they have been overdone. I want to do something different that really reflects the personalty of the individual besides just some letters. My fiance proposed in Montreaux, Switzerland so I have been inspired by castles and the European/Victorian ages for our wedding design.  Here is an example of my first stab at creating a collection of monogram designs. I can see this possibly for a elegant beach wedding maybe in Hawaii?? Enjoy and more to come!

Adding a New Direction-Web/Print#
I am currently learning HTML, CSS, and Javascript. My print background provides the basics for one day soon creating an amazing website! I am learning to think more technically through writing code rather than relying only on images. This has created a new learning style that will be very helpful in all my work. I am also working on a line of labels, notecards, invitations, basically anything that you can put a pretty design on. I have been very influenced by companies such as Greer, Papersource, and Mudlark. I have always loved using patterns, color, and depth to create something very special! Please see below one of the pieces I am working on. This will be a label for a candle.

Full-Time Job Where Are You?#
I have been freelancing for about 5 years now and I could write a book on my experiences. I figured blogging would be a nice start.  For example, just this afternoon I was making some follow up calls to the agencies that I am working with. I have been with one particular agency for about 2 months now, and I was checking up on an opportunity that I was submitted for last week. I was told to call back at 4:00 and that the recruiter I was trying to reach would be available then. I called at 4:00 and was told yet again that she was not available, and to email her instead. Just as I was done sending a polite email checking up on the status of the job, my phone rang and it was the recruiter.  I was expecting her to inform me on the status which I did not think would be very difficult, instead she told me that I need to stop calling them and that she cannot handle all the emails that she has been receiving. Now, my first thought was is she kidding? When I told her that I was simply following up to keep on top of things, she responded “well please don’t and stop emailing me”. Isn’t this supposed to be her job?? And for the record, I only emailed her once and called back based on the directions given to me by the receptionist.

First Blog#
Welcome to my blog!

I am currently working with several different creative agencies. My work is mostly print, using a clean design layout. I am influenced by my fine art skills, and have worked with mediums such as pencil, ink, paint, and collage. My work experience has been a for a variety of clients ranging from a large bank to a children’s museum. I enjoy working with different forms of communication such as presentations, signage, and marketing materials. I like to take information and organize it in clean, easy to understand way. I have been thinking a lot about my design ideas and habits and my earliest memories of graphic design would be note taking in my history class in high school. If I was not pleased with the way the notes were laid out I would rewrite them!  I would take any chance to draw a diagram, picture, or graph.

I am currently working on my website, which is a new medium for me. I focused on print in college and jobs right after, so I am using this as an opportunity to learn web design.
