Love Art#
I love art, and I have been drawing and painting ever since I could remember. I even won an art contest in second grade, and there were times that my classmates always thought I traced everything when I did it all freehand! I decided that I would combine my passion for art with graphic design, since I also love using design programs as another tool to create. inspiration comes from all places#
If I wasn't a designer, I would be a baker. I also love taking photographs, and I find inspiration in just about everything. Lately I have been really into cooking and baking. This morning I was making a carrot and apple cake, and literally had a creative aha moment when mixing the carrots with the dry ingredients. Here is what happened:

I just love how the bright orange swirls with the white (wheat, gotta make it healthy somehow) flour. Then I thought I can make a great design concept with this idea. Stay tuned, as I will be churning out my carrot and apple cake inspired invitation and stationery. Inspiration really can come from the most unexpected places.

See the design below!

I wanted to do something a little different than the traditional invitation. I picture this invitation for a rustic summer wedding, with a carrot cake wedding cake of course!

T-Shirt Design#
I recently got an inquiry for a Bat Mitzvah t-shirt design. I love how design can span across all mediums, and how it can really turn an ordinary party into an event that you can remember for years to come. Bar and Bat Mitzvahs are especially that way, as the photo albums, favors, and vidoes stick around for years and always seem to come out just at the right times.  Case in point, when I met my now husband's grandma for the first time, before I knew it we were watching his Bar Mitzvah video which I know he was thrilled for me to see him in junior high!

Below are examples of how design elements can be used to make a design carry through even after the event has ended. Similar to branding a company, an event has the same principles. This can be on t-shirts, baseball caps, stationery, event decor such as lighting, the possibilities are endless!

Baby Shower Fun#
I have always been fascinated by cake decoration. I enjoy all of TLC's and the Food Network cake shows, and watch them to get inspired. I hosted a baby shower with some of my friend's over the weekend, and dove into the diaper cake centerpiece/gift for my friend. It warms my heart to think that she was my first friend in college, and just yesterday I felt her baby kick in her tummy. Amazing. I also really really enjoyed making this "cake" and would love to do more!
